Please allow me to explain the reason why China offline team would like to fight for an aggressive growth in sample.

First of all let’s take a look at below chart, which lists costs and all the usages of samples since FY17. You can tell from the chart that the cost of samples would be expected to increase by 68% in FY19. It’s mainly because we are ambitious to have so many new programs to be realized next year. As you can see that we are putting a lot of efforts into recruiting new customers and encouraging trial for pillars we’d like to build in future by activating new programs had never tried before, such as setting sample vending machines, or by amplifying sample projects along with incremental investments in other ATL functions, such as social/digital trial sampling. We also have a vision of improving the user loyalty in creating a more friendly tier of CRM birthday program for middle-valued customers, and devoting to making our virtual set more attractive and storytelling, partially by increasing quantity and improving franchise of samples. Beyond that, we also make a modest budget for Sephora program, relative to its crazy store opening plan in FY19.

Below chart shows the building block for growth by category, which indicates a huge growth of sample order in face category mainly due to the ambitious trial programs:

With the target of ISSF of 170,000pcs in FY19, and 80,000pcs in campaign months, during which we’d like to recruit 50,000 new customers (ntf% 63%). That would require samples with the quantity of 2-2.5 times as sales target, i.e. at least 100,000pcs packages. That’s why we would like to ask for below sample request which will be repacked into 100,000pcs packages. Those packages will be estimated to support 5-7 sessions of machine setting in A+ & FSS doors in key cities.
