I talked with my boss, Reiner, yesterday about the deliverables on my first rotation. The project I’m now involved in is called FSE, which attracts much attention global wise. So my boss hands on a lot, meanwhile there is a manager in between my boss and me. Things should be my boss assign task to me, but it turned out to be I reported nominally to Reiner but actually to that manager. In my view, I need grow my own leadership, and the way to develop it is to be empowered projects independently. So I talked with Reiner about directly assigning tasks to me, saying that it was a assignment from HR, which I said:”Hr told me that Management trainees need to hand over a report on the rotation in a form of independent project. ”My boss felt angry (which I could tell from his face) because he thought I wanted to have my own small projects and separated from the present one. Then my boss answered: ”Nicole, that is not the right way to develop a management trainee, we are doing an end-to end strategic priority, in which you are playing a major role on every stage, and fully support us…..”Mission failed
