I’m writing a book review of The time traveler’s wife. It’s a science fiction novel with the tragic love story of the time traveler and his wife.

Henry, the main character, has genetic disorder and it causes him uncontrollable time traveling. He could be sent to the past or future anytime at anywhere against his will. One day when he is 28 in the present, he meets the girl named Clare. She says she’d been known him for a long time since she was young. But Henry can’t remember her because the person who Clare knew was future Henry who were time traveling at that time. Regardless of this weird situation, they fall in love to each other magically and get married in their present. However, due to Henry’s constant time travels, Clare always has to be worried of him and even feels unsecured about their marriage. The novel is closed with sad ending that Henry is dead by Clare’s father in accident during his time travel to her past. Even though he is dead but Clare still can see him who were time traveling from his past sometimes and it lets her wait him for whole life no matter in the past, present or future.

When I just started reading this book, I thought it would be a interesting sci-fi novel. But against my expectation, it was such a sad romance. I still like the story because of its detailed description about the characters feeling and scenes. I also admire the writer’s creativity and imagination which allows me to lose the track of time reading this book. : )

I’m writing a book review of The time traveler’s wife which is a science fiction novel about the tragic love story of a time traveler and his wife.

Henry, the main character, has a genetic disorder which causes him to time travel uncontrollably. He could be sent to the past or future at anytime to any place, against his will / he could suddenly arrive anywhere at any time. One day when he was 28 (which is the present time of the film), he meets a girl named Clare who says she’d known him for a long time since she was young. However, Henry can’t remember her because the person who Clare knew was future Henry who was time traveling at that time. Regardless of this weird situation, they fall in love with each other magically and get married. However, due to Henry’s constant time travels / traveling, Clare is always worried about him and even feels insecure about their marriage. The novel has a sad ending / ends in a sad way with Henry being killed by Clare’s father in an accident during his trip back to her past. Even though he is dead, Clare can still see him when he is time traveling through his past and it makes her wait for him her whole life no matter whether it is in the past, present or future.

When I just started reading this book, I thought it would be an interesting sci-fi novel, but to my surprise / against my expectation, it was such a sad romance. I still liked the story because of its detailed description of the characters feelings and scenes. I also admire the writer’s creativity and imagination which allowed me to lose track of time while reading this book. : )
