Hi Teachers

Good afternoon
I went to Malaysia for business trip in last week. So today is very busy since there are a lot of pending task from last week. And my schedule is also very target in this week.
My son and I visited his new friend yesterday, his friend is cute girl and she is 2 grade pupil. He was get well along with her, and stayed at her home for dinner. I chatted with my son when I pick up him, do you like write with your friend and paly with her? He said yes. He wanted to play with her every weekend. I am happy he got a friend.
One question: I know the vocabulary is important when you are listening and saying, I want to expand my vocabulary in short time, how to do it? Awaiting your advice.

Have a nice day
Thanks
Candy

Hello Candy,

when it comes to learning a new language and the vocabulary for that language, there is many options. Different methods will work better for different people depending on the type of learner you are and your daily life. Personally for me, one of my favorite methods is using flash cards. There are many apps you can download on your cellphone for this. I also enjoy making them by hand as the process of making them helps me remember them better. They are also very easy to carry around with you and practice in your free time (even if its just 10 minutes on the subway).

Simply put the Chinese character on one side and the English on the other and continuously review it in your free time until you memorized it and then add some new flashcards. If your really struggling to remember the word, then you can add a little picture of it beside the English word to help you relate the word to the picture. Personally I find this a very good way to effectively use my time on the subway going to work and home everyday and gives me an extra 40 minutes of studying.

Hope this helps and GOOD LUCK! Look forward to seeing you next time.
