Last weekend I went to Jinshan with my family, my son wanted to play sand, though typhoon has just passed.
We changed clothes and brought equipment at the hotel. When we got to the door, we found that the beach was being repaired and closed.
We can only play somewhere else. My friend found a place to pick grapes and children could play with water guns. The children played until evening, we chatted and ate grapes. Everyone was very happy.

Last weekend I went to Jinshan with my family and my son wanted to play in/with the sand even though the typhoon had just passed.
We changed clothes and brought equipment from the hotel but when we got to the door (see below), we found that the beach was being repaired maintained / renovated (see below) and closed.
We can only needed to play somewhere else. My friend found a place to pick grapes and the children could play with water guns. The children played until the evening, we chatted and ate grapes. Everyone was very happy.

NOTES
– door of the hotel, or entrance of the beach (second line)
– We don’t say ‘repair a beach‘, but we can said ‘maintained‘ which means doing something to make it better
