Spring Festival

I want to introduce the most important festival for Chinese to you-Spring Festival, which is a celebration for Lunar New Year.

During Spring Festival, people go back home across cities and regions to get together with their families.

You can experience the authentic traditional Chinese culture and happy atmosphere on this day.

For example, people put on new clothes to visit families and friends to indicate a new beginning of the year.

Also, lighting/setting off fireworkis another form of celebrating the New Year,

Also, fireworks are integral/customary to celebrating the New Year , as well as another purpose for preventing the “Nian”, a legendary master from entering people’s houses. Unfortunately, because of ecology protection, fireworks have been banned by the government.

Furthermore, eating is the most important thing for Chinese during Spring Festival. There is a distinctive differentiation between northern and southern China on eating. In North China, people eat “jiaozi” during/for the festival, which is like ancient Chinese money, to wish a rich life in the New Year.

While in the south, people eat “tangyuan to wish a whole family gets together in the New Year.

In general/Basically, Spring Festival is an opportunity for people to conclude last year, prospect next year and give us confidence to fight/persevere for a better life in the new year.
