Demo Class Notes (Mindy – Tibo)

I am a an assistant director work for TVC, I need to talk with foreign actors and sometimes I need to talk with foreign photographers and directors so I need to learn English and my English is at very low level so I need to study hard.

When I talk with actors I should tell them how to act  / pose and story line.
And when I talk to director I should work with director so so many things I don’t know the words.

I can just understand a little and almost time with a translator.
so many car TVC.

It is not very often to do so almost time I just talk face to face.

I don’t know the words.
Maybe they are come from different countries and I think

but the big problem is me, I don’t know the words.

I like boxing.
it feels good / it is relaxing
And I like traveling. Japan.
I like Hokkaido

you drive your car across the road and see everything and you feel great

I work on so many car TVCs. / most of the shoots are for car TVCs

I do not often write emails , most of the time we talk face to face
I don’t know the words. / I don’t know the vocabulary of a shoot
Maybe they come from different countries and have different accents.

but the big problem is me, I don’t know the words. / I miss/lack the vocabulary.

I like boxing.

And I like traveling. I enjoy visiting Japan.

Vocabulary

lap (n) 圈数
The driver won after driving 10 laps

it feels good / great 很爽
Doing nothing during the holiday felt great

to explain (v) 解释
I explained the scene to the talent

explanation (n)
I didn’t understand the explanation because it was in Spanish

to act (v) 演
He acts very well in the movie

second (s) : 60secs = 1 min
Our TVCs are usually 30sec long.

to limit (v) 限制
it is hard to find foreign actors because of the virus, the situation is limiting.

The time limit for the TVC is 2mins

photographer (n) 摄影师
The photographer shot pictures for the magazine

videographer (n) person taking care of shooting video
I hired a videographer to shoot an interview of our boss

director of photography (n) 摄影指导
The director of photography was thinking about which angle to use

Hokkaido (n) 北海道
I travelled to Hokkaido

camera man (n) : someone who holds a camera
The camera man turned on the camera

to protect (v) 保护
The security belt protects you in case of an accident

protection (n)
The actor had a helmet for protection

helmet (n) 头盔
He wore a helmet while riding the motorbike

to scream (v) 尖叫
you have to scream to show you are scared

I heard a scream

vocabulary (n) 词汇
I lack the vocabulary

frame (n) : what is in / out of the picture
You only see the logo in the frame

wide frame / wide angle (n) : a frame showing a lot of what happens
The video starts with a wide frame of the car and the couple around it

close up (n) very close shot
The second shot is a close up on the logo at the back of the car.

to zoom in / out (v) : to move closer / move farther away
first there is a wide frame and then you zoom in the logo at the back of the car

accent (n) 口音
He is Scottish and has a strong accent

pollution (n) 污染
The car emits very low pollution

Grammar

almost (adv) 几乎
The shooting was supposed to start at 9am and I arrived at 8:59 . I almost arrived late.
When I young I almost studied hard.

most of the time I have to speak English with the director
most foreign directors like to drink
