Vocabulary

brave (adj): 1- showing no fear of dangerous or difficult things:
E.g.: a brave soldier
E.g.: It was a brave decision to quit her job and start her own business.
E.g.: She was very brave to learn to ski at 50.

ski (v): 1-滑雪 2-to move over snow on skis:
E.g.: He skied down the hill.
E.g.: Let’s go skiing.

surgery=operation (n): 1-the treatment of injuries or diseases in people or animals by cutting open the body and removing or repairing the damaged part:
E.g.: The patient had surgery on his heart.

attack (v): 1-to try to hurt or defeat using violence:
E.g.: He was attacked and seriously injured by a dog.

aggressive (adj): 1- behaving in an angry and violent way towards another person:
E.g.: Men are usually more aggressive than women.
E.g.: If I criticize him, he gets aggressive and starts shouting.

criticize (v): 1-to express disapproval of someone or something:
E.g.: We’ll get nowhere if all you can do is criticize.

narrow (adj): 1- having a small distance from one side to the other, especially in comparison with the length:
E.g.: a narrow bridge
E.g.: a narrow face
E.g.: narrow feet
E.g.: The little village has very narrow streets.

wide (adj): 1-having a larger distance from one side to the other than is usual or expected, especially in comparison with the length of something; ≠narrow:
E.g.: a wide river
E.g.: His eyes were wide (= opened much more than usual) with surprise.

Reading

The chihuahua is a small type of dog. It may be small but it can be very brave. One chihuahua helped a small girl when she was attacked by a pit bull.

The chihuahua came to help the girl and managed to get the aggressive dog away from her. People caught the pit bull and they will kill it. The girl has terrible injuries and she will need hours of surgery. But if the chihuahua had not helped her, it could have been much worse.
