Actually I studied in the UK for 1 year and I felt my English really improved a lot but after I came back to China the working environment is not English dominant so my English decreased and I feel in the long run I want to be confident with English.
nowadays from time to times I may have to speak English but I wasn’t confident enough to do some chit chat that is my big concern and on top of that the major driver is that I have an interview coming up.
I am working as a management consultant. For me I really want this to be practical. I wanna say the phrases that I could use in real life and the thing is that I am confident to chat with peers because I can use slang but when I talk to seniors or when drafting an email I find myself struggling.
emails and ppt. Primarily to the client so it has to be very formal and I want to make sure it is perfect. I often have to google it to make sure I say it correctly.
I find it difficult to express my thoughts especially I want to write it professionally not just like informative but also convey feelings or imply something.
when drafting a presentation I tend to think in Chinese but for daily communication I can think in English.
for example when they describe one topic and I miss a couple of words it is hard for me to follow up again.
