My name is Jack, and I am one of your fans. A short time ago I subscribed to you and I feel that I have benefited a lot from you. At present, I’m still a student, but soon I will graduate from my university. In the past, Actually, English has always been my hobby. At / In university I always participated in some English activities including English corners. At that time, my English was very poor, so I couldn’t talk with foreign teachers very often. Very thank him (who is “him” in this sentence?), he gave me a lot of help / He helped me a lot. I will go back to write my graduation essay now. At the moment, I study English very hard / I am studying English a lot, and someday I will use my English for something. I think I’m lucky to meet you and I feel that you’re my guide. Thank you very much. That’s all.

From the teacher

Hi Jack – thank you so much for such a lovely piece of writing. It’s my pleasure to help you – thank you for being my fan.

Your English has some good, and also some things you can improve. Firstly, you need to make longer sentences. Use conjunctions (连词) to make longer sentences – for example: “I went to the park because I wanted to see the birds.” This is very important for English if you want to stop using Chinglish. Also, remember the time when you use verbs. English verbs have the time inside them! “I go to the park” is always / often / sometimes. “I went to the park” is yesterday / in the past / last time. This is also really important for English.

Great job – keep studying! 🙂
