Vocabulary

Period (n): 1- an amount of time.
E.g.: Her work means that she spends long periods away from home.
E.g.: Unemployment in the first half of the year was 2.5 percent lower than in the same period the year before.
E.g.: 15 people were killed in/over a period of four days.
E.g.: The study will be carried out over a six-month period.

Rare (adj): 1- not common; very unusual.
E.g.: The museum is full of rare and precious treasures.
E.g.: It’s very rare to find these birds in New England in winter.
E.g.: It’s very rare to find someone who combines such qualities.
