3 step classes (Lily) [1]

Class 1 is vocabulary. You should spend the whole class teaching many new words. 8-10 is a good amount

  1. drop out = to leave school before you are finished with it

ex: Universities in China have a lower drop out rate.

2. catch up =  to get as far as the other pupils because you have missed something

ex: I need to catch up with the work i missed last week.

ex: It’s been a long time since we talked, we need to catch up! (build up relationship)

3. society = people in general

ex: Racism is a big problem in the society.

4. unemployed = out of work

ex: people who are unemployed cannot guarantee their life quality.

5. income = the money you get when you work

ex: The average income in Shanghai is about $4-5000 a month.

6. graduate = if you finish the last class of school successfully

ex: I graduated from university several years ago.

7. bachelor’s degree = the first part of studies at a university

ex: Before getting the bachelor’s degree, we need to write a thesis.

8. implication = effect

ex: Students do not understand the implications of dropping out of school.

9. demand = want

ex: The boss demanded me to work overtime today.
