Vocabulary

1.got pregnant= 怀孕了
ex: my cousin got pregnant in May.

2. due (verb)= 预产
ex: She is due in March.

3. due (verb)= 到期 要交
ex: the homework is due on Monday.
ex: When is it due?
ex: When is the due date for the (milk/ candy/ food)?

4. tradition (noun)= 传统
ex: we have to respect the tradition.

5. culture (noun)= 文化
ex: When people get engaged in China, they have to give money to each other, this is a culture.

6. OCD= 强迫症
ex: I have OCD, I must pee before I go to bed.
ex: I have OCD, I have to take a shower before I sleep.

7. look forward to (verb)= 期待
ex: Do you look forward to CNY?
ex: Do you look forward to spending Chinese New Year alone.

8. in a rush to …= 着急+动词
in a hurry to….
ex: I’m in a rush to go downstairs.
ex: Are you in a rush?/ Are you in a hurry?

10. forgetful (adj)= 健忘的 丢三落四的
ex: She is very forgetful, she loses things all the time.

ex: We had puppy love in high school.

12. quit (doing something)= 放弃XX／ 戒XX
ex: She quit school because she had to work.
ex: My mom wants me to quit smoking.
ex: I quit piano when I was in grade 11 because I was too busy.
