Do some writing and focus on the grammar you learned in class today. For next class, Yim can practice the restaurant vocabulary in a conversation with his Girlfriend or a Friend.

For example, write conversation about being at Mexican food restaurant. Tell us about it, is it great? Lets go eat Mexican!

Use some of the vocabulary from today in some writing. Choose a topic that lets you use the words we learned.

Connected to Brazil.

“The company I work for is connected to Brazil and the USA.”

“What does your company do?”  “Import beef.”  –> ” The company I work for imports beef from Brazil to Chinese consumers.” 

Vocabulary

to consume= to put inside of your body…

a product, products = to make something, usually for business vocabulary

examples of food products: beef, fruit, vegetables, grains/carbohydrates,

“Why does this company exist?“ “Because we need to eat beef. Because they have a big market in China.” —> “This company exists because there are more and more Chinese consumers who like to eat beef. China has the biggest consumer market in the world, so my company provides the Chinese consumers with beef products.”

to slice: to cut but in equal parts.

to whisk: to take very quickly, or to use a specific tool to whisk the eggs.

to bake in the oven: cooking something slowly in a box

to simmer: to carefully heat up in the water, like a soup, creates a steam-mao yian,

to mash: to press down very hard. “to make the Mashed Potatoes” Common food.

to grate: use for cheese

to fry: “I am to fry with egg.” “I am frying an egg.”

to peel: to remove the outer layer of something.

( *eel- a animal in the water like fish-snake)… To peel an eel…

to Cut: to use a knife for separating things….

to separate: to make something into Two parts… “What happened to your last GF? We decided to break up / to separate.”

Tissue vs. napkin. (you can say both)  to clean yourself

A waiter is a man vs. a Waitress is a woman

Grammar

Future tense = I will go to Hangzhou to see a beautiful view.

Past Tense = I went to Hangzhou with my family before.  I saw a beautiful view, such as West Lake, and lots of nature. 

Present Continuous Tense: Subject + verb:to be + 2nd verb-ing. 

Plural = an english grammar word for MORE than ONE…example. Two guys are here.

Singular = just ONE…. example. One Guy is here.
