Read page ten in “English Made Easy – Ages 6-7” and write the answers to the questions at the bottom.

Vocabulary

Penmanship – if your writing looks good or not
e.g. Sophie is writing very carefully and has very good penmanship.

Spacebar – the long key at the bottom of the keyboard
@ – this symbol means “at”
# – this symbol means “number”
Caps Lock – when you press the “caps lock” key, it makes all the letters big
e.g. THIS IS A SENTENCE WITH CAPS LOCK ON. ALL THE LETTERS ARE BIG
Capital letter – a big letter!

Palm – the inside of your hand, between your wrist and your fingers 手掌
Paw – the feet of some animals
e.g. Dogs and lions have paws.
Hoof – the feet some animals, these are very hard
e.g. Horses, deer, and donkeys all have hooves.

Freckle – a small brown spot on your skin

Beehive – the home for bees, where you find the honeycomb that has the honey
e.g. When Winnie jumped he got the whole hive and took it down from the tree with him. Then he could eat the honey.

Clay – a type of dirt that you can shape into other things 粘土

Pane – one piece of glass in a window

Saw – something for cutting other things by pushing and pulling 锯子

e.g. Nick’s shirt has two buttons.

Slip – when you try to jump, or walk, or run, and your feet go out from under you and you fall on the ground 滑
Riverbank – the side of a river 河岸边
Accident – when something happens that you don’t expect and causes a problem 事故,意外
Mischief – when a naughty person is causing trouble 恶作剧
Loaf – one big piece of bread after baking

Writing exercise

Winie climed up the tree and he want to get the honey but he can’t get it. Winie jump and he hald the honey but he fall on the grass!


Winnie climbed up into the tree and because he wanted to get the honey, but he couldn’t get it. Winnie jumped and he hald grabbed some the honey but he fall fell out of the tree on the grass!
